Abstract

Background: Adolescence is in addition to physical changes, adolescents are also identical to searching for identity, tend to take actions without careful thought so that the problems experienced by adolescents are also unique, related to sexuality or reproductive health so that it requires a process of introduction and knowledge of reproductive health that actually begins at this time.
Methods: This study employs a pre-experimental design involving 20 female students at SMAN 10 Maros. In this study, the level of knowledge was measured twice within the same group: before the intervention (pre-test) and after the intervention (post-test). The results from both measurements were then compared to determine whether there was an improvement in knowledge scores following the educational intervention. The study was conducted at SMAN 10 Maros. The sample consisted of 20 female students aged 16–18, selected using purposive sampling—a non-probability sampling method that allows researchers to choose participants based on specific characteristics and criteria relevant to the study's objectives. A reproductive health knowledge questionnaire served as the research instrument. This questionnaire covered aspects of reproductive health that align with the educational material provided. Data analysis involved descriptive analysis and a comparison of pre-test and post-test results using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test.
Results: The results of the study obtained there is an effect of adolescent reproductive health education on adolescent knowledge at SMAN 10 Maros with a value of ρ < 0.001.
Conclusion: This activity is expected to help parents, teachers, and midwives or health workers in preventing and reducing the number of early marriages, adolescent sexual violence by providing adolescent reproductive health counseling at SMAN 10 Maros.
